Lok See brings a unique perspective into biomechanics and adapts it effectively into powerlifting. Ever since he started coaching at @classics.csa, he has helped many of our members move better, whether it be the squat, bench or deadlift. Not to mention, most members are intermediate lifters, and not just beginners.

Being a strength coach myself, I was skeptical at first since I had never heard of the application of gait into powerlifting movements. However, I couldn’t argue with the results. Having worked with my own coach, while manipulating load, programming and stances, my squat numbers had still stalled for over a year. I had specifically struggled with depth and force production out of the hole. Over the past 4 months with Lok See’s help, I was able to address these issues and my squats had never felt better. I recently set a squat personal best in competition by 22kg (187kg).

Working with Lok See made my lifts more consistent, better and most importantly: setting PRs all the time.

I have always struggled with the deadlift since I started lifting. In June 2021, I decided to join Lok See to improve it. He analysed all my lifts and we came to the conclusion that all three lifts needed improvement as I also found out my squat depth was borderline. He explained clearly the steps needed to address all three lifts.

In the first month, the warm up movement drills and coaching cues Lok See gave me were very effective and I felt improvement immediately. My bar path got more vertical and I was hitting depth for squat, my arch in bench got more solid and tighter, and I felt better using proper leg drive and bracing while deadlifting.

I believe everyone can get stronger but if you are seriously trying to get improvements on your lifts, Lok See is an excellent coach to help you excel in a sustainable and consistent manner.

We've only worked together for 6 months, but in that time he's transformed me into a more efficient, stronger lifter.

I first met Lok See back in 2019 when we were simply two avid gym lifters. When he told me he was going into coaching, I knew it was the perfect decision for him. He's one of the smartest people I know and combined with his hard work and love for powerlifting, I knew he would be a great coach.

Before I hated how my squats used to look and I would frequently get hip pain. He has now transformed it into a pain-free lift that I am proud of. My deadlift has also benefitted greatly by teaching me the correct way to hinge and how to use my quads efficiently. But what use is good form if you are not getting stronger? Lok See has managed to transform me from a national athlete to someone who competes on the international stage. Attending IPF Worlds has been a dream of mine and I couldn't have done it without the mentorship of Lok See.

Under Lok See's mentoring, my horizon has broadened in powerlifting: from providing large-scale fixes to my lifts to focusing on the smallest of details to make me the best athlete possible.

His focus on integrating a lens on biomechanics to his coaching helped me remove any discomfort that I have from training with carefully thought-out movement drills and accessories. Through moving better without compensations, this translated into better technique in my squat, bench and deadlift.

Each session is like an educational lesson. He made me realise to become a better lifter is to understand the underlying knowledge and skill. This allows me to lift confidently when I'm under the bar.

Lok See has helped me learn more about myself as a lifter and to appreciate collaboration as a key part of effective coaching

I came to Lok See while recovering from a back injury and worked with him to rebuild both my strength and technical proficiency in the squat, bench and deadlift. In that time, I’ve come to understand much more about the way that my body moves, the compensatory mechanisms that I tend to adopt and how we can prime ourselves to lift more, sustainably.

Throughout the coaching process, Lok See has been an excellent communicator who constantly explains programming rationale, answers any and all questions that I have, while still engaging in open discussion about how best to move forward. I’ve learnt that coaching is a two-way street, and the hard work that Lok See and I have put in together has already brought me PRs across the board in my first powerlifting competition.

He made me believe, he gave me confidence, he motivated me that I am still capable to lift back to my previous level and beyond.

I came to Lok See due to multiple injuries where I was no longer able to execute proper SBD training. Having always considered myself as someone with poor mobility, he helped me understand how my mobility could be improved through re-positioning my body with specific warm-up exercises.

After a month of working with him, he made me able to do SBD again. Although the weight was still light, looking back it was a huge success for us. It gave me the concept of "lift heavy and smart", which was something new to me as I was not aware of how to lifting with intent on good technique would mean that the heavy weights would come eventually.

Step by step, we refined my techniques for all three lifts and I was able to add 40kg to my meet total in my latest competition. He made me believe, he gave me confidence, he motivated me that I am still capable to lift back to my previous level and beyond. I am glad to have him as my coach and also my friend.

Lok See is a diligent, responsive, and highly knowledgeable coach that helped me uncover my strength potential.

Back in late 2021, I started a powerlifting program on my own. Although I made decent progress, I encountered increasing discomfort and pain in my knees and lower back. With few resources available beyond my own research, I decided to seek a more effective and efficient method of training.

This is where Lok See comes in. He was able to swiftly decipher what was going on: poor form, lack of mobility, and even how certain gym equipment was hampering my recovery and technique development. Within as short as a week’s time, I was able to gain a much stronger

understanding of my own anatomy.

He designed bespoke training methodologies to accommodate my inflexible schedule. Under his guidance, I advanced from a complete novice to a competitive lifter. Together, I have confidence we will achieve the goals and accolades we set our eyes on in no time.

I am grateful that he always accommodates my needs and makes reactive changes to fit my demanding schedule.

I started working with Lok See in August 2021. There were times that I got frustrated with my lifts. But he always provided instant voice and video feedback (even late at night) to help address my concerns. Over these few months, we worked on helping me hit better depth in the squat along with improving the consistency of my deadlift technique.

I am grateful that he always accommodates my needs and makes reactive changes to fit my demanding schedule. Especially when leading up to my meet, we were able to create a more flexible training program for me as I had to skip and sandbag a few of my training sessions. Even with all these hurdles, I managed to hit PRs all round in my meet.

Lok See is smart and also a good friend to banter around with. I am sure that I will hit all the short-term goals I set with him in the very near future.

Under Lok See's coaching, he really opened my eyes on how to lift better.

I have been lifting alone for a few years now, but I decided to reach out to Lok See for my first coaching experience because I wanted someone knowledgeable to fix my technique and form.  It really opened my eyes on how to lift better because I learnt more about biomechanics and the concept of using leg drive instead of just using my back to squat and deadlift.

At times I got frustrated with my lifts because I found these concepts difficult to execute, especially with my muscular imbalances.  But in the end, I am grateful that Lok See helped me persevere through this and my lifts are now much better.
